by Paddy, 8 years agoI think the functionality provided by this add-on should come as standard in Firefox (or any browser, really). It makes managing, tracking, organising and finding downloaded files really convenient, and it's very customisable, so you can set it up however you like. My personal favourite features are audio alerts, popup "toast" messages, a toggleable bar showing the individual progress of each download (which can be placed on the top or the bottom of the browser window), and a history of downloaded files in case I need to re-download a file later. It's robust and useful, with pretty much no fluff or bloat, and I don't think any of the alternatives are quite as good, and I tried about half a dozen of them before I settled on Download Manager (S3).

- Rated 4 out of 5by AetherialAvenger, 13 days agothe extension hasnt been updated in 7 years, but its one of the few that has a functional queue mode that actually works, however you cant set it to queue only one download at a time. It will always do at least two downloads at once.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13716274, 16 days agoDevelopment of this extension has been abandoned for years, and it now interferes with the display of certain websites. I have removed it, which is a shame because I really liked it.
- Rated 3 out of 5by MicahStone, 2 months agoOf the many add-ons I use with Firefox, this is the ONLY ONE that DOES NOT RESPECT the Firefox setting to UPDATE MANUALLY...it updates when IT WANTS TO UPDATE !!!! POOR. Plus this add-on can't handle a change in time setting in the system and simply stops measuring the download progress. POOR.
- Rated 2 out of 5by benjee, 2 months agoHave used for years but appears abandoned by dev. Is suddenly interfering with javascript on some sites and breaking them, causing this addon to have to be disabled for sites to load properly.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 12812696, 5 months agoDeduction of one star because the gradients option (checkbox) doesn't seem to work for me. Download bar, when active, still uses gradients. I'm running a heavily customized css theme of latest Firefox, so it may be on my end, but I don't think so.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Sesarma, 9 months agoLike another review noted, if you have the status bar displayed and print a page to PDF or paper, the status bar is included in the print. Removing a star for that.
Mozilla's page says it the extension hasn't been updated since 2019, although my Firefox addons list says 2023. Either way, not sure if anything will ever change. - Rated 5 out of 5by たやまみ, 10 months ago
