if you disconnect it does nothing, you stay online, and you will just be surfing with no protection until you notice it isn't connected anymore.

The Proton VPN extension doesn't currently have a kill switch feature that blocks the traffic if the VPN connection drops, but we've taken note of your feedback for future consideration. You can follow our blog (https://protonvpn.com/blog) and socials for any news and updates.
