This policy describes the information handled by the momoChef Recipe Clipper Firefox add-on. The complete momoChef Privacy Policy is available at https://momochef.com/privacy.


The add-on handles:

• Authentication information needed to sign in to a momoChef account and keep the user signed in.
• Website activity and content needed to import a recipe, including the current page URL, extracted recipe information, image and video URLs, selected text, and sanitized page HTML.
• Extension preferences stored locally in Firefox, including consent status, recipe-book selection, and import settings.

The add-on displays a first-use disclosure before transmitting page information.

When the user requests a recipe import, the add-on may securely send the source URL, extracted recipe content, image and video URLs, selected text, and sanitized page HTML to momochef.com so the recipe can be parsed and saved.

After consent, supported social-media pages may be sent for parsing when the clipper is opened because those pages often do not expose structured recipe information locally.

Optional recipe auto-detection is disabled by default. When enabled, it scans page structure locally and does not send page content to momoChef.

“Pre-send recipe data” is a separate optional setting, disabled by default. When enabled, it sends recipe data when the user opens the add-on to speed up an import.


Information is used only to:

• Authenticate the user.
• Detect, parse, review, save, organize, and sync recipes.
• Provide and improve the user-requested recipe-import functionality.
• Maintain security, prevent abuse, and diagnose service errors.

Extension data is not sold, used for advertising, or used to determine creditworthiness. Service providers may process information on momoChef’s behalf where necessary to operate infrastructure, host images, monitor errors, or provide an extraction feature selected by the user.


Extension preferences are stored locally in Firefox. Imported recipes and related account information are retained by momoChef for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service or until the user deletes the recipe or account, subject to limited retention in backups, security logs, or records required by law.

All information transmitted by the add-on is sent using HTTPS.


Users can:

• Continue without enabling local auto-detection.
• Disable auto-detection or pre-send behavior in the add-on’s settings.
• Review and edit detected recipe information before saving.
• Delete individual recipes.
• Export their account data.
• Delete their momoChef account.
• Uninstall the add-on to remove its locally stored extension data.
