Latest version
Version 1.55.53
Released Aug 8, 2026 - 6.71 MBWorks with firefox 140.0 and laterThis is a large update — 47 releases since 1.55.6.
Fixed
• The download button now identifies the video you actually clicked in
many cases where it previously said "play the video first". Several
independent root causes were found and fixed, including players that
prepare video in a background worker, players that repackage the data
they download, and pages that render media data server-side.
• Downloaded videos are no longer silent on sites that deliver picture
and sound as two separate files. The pair is now matched at the moment
the download starts, and the download waits briefly when the audio
track is known to arrive later.
• Wrong-video downloads. When the extension cannot prove which video was
clicked, it now refuses rather than guessing.
• Quality selection now uses resolution first. Previously it compared
file size and bitrate, which are usually absent on stream variants, so
a lower-resolution file could be picked.
• Different qualities of the same video are no longer counted as
different videos, and no longer produce one card each.
• The list order now follows the order items appear on the page.
• The preview player now plays the matched audio track, and has its own
volume control.
• Clicking download on an already-downloaded video downloads it again
instead of refusing.
• Download button position adjusted so site overlays no longer cover it.
Security
• The free daily limit could be reset by clearing local data. The counter
is now kept in two places and the higher value wins. Paid licences are
unaffected — Pro gating is a separate, server-authoritative layer.
Added
• An optional review prompt: after three successful downloads, a small
dismissible strip appears once. It asks no rating, offers no incentive,
and never asks again once dismissed. It is never shown after an error
or a quota refusal. Everything stays on your device.
Removed
• The temporary diagnostic summary that appeared on the download button
during troubleshooting.Source code released under All Rights Reserved
