Privacy policy for Uninterrupted
Last updated: August 2026
Uninterrupted is a Firefox extension that automatically handles advertising interruptions on YouTube. It is designed to operate locally and protect user privacy.
Uninterrupted does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal data.
The extension stores the following information only in Firefox's local extension storage:
- Feature and toggle preferences
- Number of advertisements handled
- Estimated time saved
- Channel whitelist entries selected by the user
This information remains on the user's device and is not transmitted to the developer or any third party.
Uninterrupted makes no external network requests and uses no analytics, telemetry, tracking, advertising, or remote-code services. It interacts only with the YouTube page already opened by the user and Firefox extension APIs.
- storage: saves settings, statistics, and whitelist entries locally.
- activeTab: obtains information about the currently viewed YouTube tab when needed.
- tabs: temporarily mutes the browser tab during an advertisement, verifies the mute state, and restores the user's previous tab-audio state afterward.
- ://.youtube.com/*: allows the extension to detect and handle ads on YouTube pages.
The extension does not send information to YouTube, the developer, or any third-party service beyond the requests the YouTube website itself makes independently.
Material changes to this policy will be documented in the extension changelog and reflected in an updated version of this policy.
