Data Storage & Ownership:
The Totag Firefox Add-on functions as an interface to help users organize and manage their web bookmarks. All bookmark URLs, titles, custom folders, and tags created or imported by the add-on are stored exclusively within the user's own personal Google Drive account in a designated JSON backup file ("totag_backup.json") and inside local browser storage for caching.
Data Transmission & Sharing:
Totag does not operate third-party data tracking servers. We do not collect, transmit, sell, share, or analyze any user browsing activity, passwords, email addresses, or bookmark contents. All data transfers occur strictly over encrypted HTTPS connections directly between the user's Firefox web browser and Google's official cloud APIs (Google Drive and Google OAuth 2.0).
Permissions Usage:
"identity" & "storage": Used solely to authenticate the user securely with Google Drive via official OAuth 2.0 web login flows and retain temporary login access tokens locally.
"bookmarks": Used exclusively on supported desktop browsers to read and create a dedicated folder ("📱 Totag Android Bookmarks") allowing users to view web links saved from their mobile companion app directly in Firefox.
