Tab Decider by Techniko

If you have hundreds of open tabs, closing them one by one is hopeless and closing them all at once is terrifying. Tab Decider offers a middle path.

It shows you one tab at a time, least recently viewed first, with its title, URL and when you last looked at it. You make one decision. Keeping a tab leaves it open but unloads it from memory, so it stops consuming RAM until you visit it again. Throwing it closes it. Everything else in the extension exists to make that loop faster or safer.

If you're not sure what a tab is, peek at it. That jumps you straight there, and a keyboard shortcut lets you decide from the tab itself, landing you back on the decider on the next one.

Closed something by mistake? Undo reopens it using Firefox's session history and puts it back where you were in the queue.

When other open tabs share the exact same URL, you'll see them listed, and you can close a few or throw them all at once. Tabs you've already chosen to keep are left alone.

You can also see how many other tabs share the current domain and pull them to the front of the queue. GitHub, GitLab and Codeberg tabs group by repository too, so all the issues and pull requests from one project can be dealt with together.

A filter narrows the queue to matching titles or URLs when you want to focus on one thing. Navigation is free: step forward or back by one or ten, or jump to any position. Skipped tabs stay in the queue for later. A running count tracks what you've reviewed, and anything closing a large batch asks before proceeding.

Keep, throw and open work from anywhere in Firefox, including while peeking. On the decider page itself, every action has a single-key shortcut.

The interface supports full keyboard control, screen-reader announcements, WCAG 2.1 AA contrast in both light and dark themes, and reduced-motion and high-contrast settings.

Tab Decider requests no host permissions, so it cannot read page content. It only sees the tab metadata Firefox provides. Nothing is collected, transmitted or shared, and the queue is deliberately forgotten when you restart Firefox.
