Symvek Shield collects no data about you or your browsing.

WHAT STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE

Every privacy grade, tracker count, blocked request, cookie decision and setting is computed and stored locally in your browser. Your browsing history, the sites you visit, the trackers you encounter and your scores are never transmitted anywhere. We cannot see them, because they never reach us.

Shield requests access to data on all websites. It needs that access to read a page in order to grade it and block its trackers. It does not send that data anywhere.

NETWORK REQUESTS

The free tier makes no network requests to our servers at all. You can verify this yourself: open the Network panel in Firefox developer tools, browse normally, and count the requests to symvek.com. There are none.

The tracker filter lists are bundled inside the extension package. Shield does not fetch them at runtime.

PREMIUM LICENCE VALIDATION

If you buy Premium, the extension contacts api.symvek.com to check that your licence is valid. That request contains exactly two values:

• A SHA-256 hash of your licence key. Your actual key is never sent.
• An opaque device identifier: a random 256-bit value generated on your device on first use, combined with your browser's user agent string and hashed with SHA-256. The result is a 64-character hex string that identifies nothing about you.

No browsing data, no page URLs, no personal information and no analytics accompany that request. The same two values are sent if you deactivate a device.

PAYMENT

Premium payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe collects the billing information needed to take payment, under its own privacy policy. Shield never sees or stores your payment details.

NO ANALYTICS, NO TELEMETRY, NO THIRD PARTIES

Shield contains no analytics SDK, no telemetry, no crash reporting and no advertising or tracking libraries of any kind.

DATA REMOVAL

All Shield data lives in your browser's local extension storage. Removing the extension removes it. There is nothing stored on our side to delete, because there was nothing sent.
