Proxy Switcher allows users to configure and use a proxy server selected and supplied by the user.
- Information stored locally
The extension stores the following information in Firefox local extension storage:
- Proxy hostname or IP address
- Proxy port
- Selected proxy protocol
- Optional proxy username
- Optional proxy password
- Connection status
- Interface theme preference
This information is used only to provide the proxy configuration functionality requested by the user.
- Proxy traffic
When the proxy connection is enabled, browser traffic is routed through the proxy server selected by the user. The selected proxy provider may process this traffic according to its own terms and privacy policy.
Users should only use proxy servers and proxy providers they trust.
- Proxy authentication
Optional proxy credentials are transmitted only when the selected proxy server requests authentication. The extension does not send proxy credentials to ordinary website authentication prompts.
- Test Proxy feature
Only when the user clicks the Test Proxy button, the extension sends a request to https://ipwho.is/ to display the current public IP address and approximate city and country.
The response is displayed in the extension popup. Proxy Switcher does not use this information for analytics or advertising.
- Analytics and advertising
Proxy Switcher does not contain:
