Precio Real runs entirely in your browser. There is no Precio Real backend that receives your product lookups. When you click “Vs EE.UU.” / compare, the extension contacts public third-party sites from your network to estimate a free-market (US) price.
On click only, the extension reads from the Mercado Libre page:
- Product title, listed ARS price
- Optional brand / model if visible on the page
That data is used in-browser to query public sources (e.g. DuckDuckGo, Bing, Amazon.com, eBay, Microless, and dolarapi.com for MEP FX). It is not sent to a Precio Real server.
- No Precio Real account, email, or analytics backend
- No browsing history outside the product-page action
- No sale of personal data
Optional browser extension storage may hold short-lived preferences. A short session cache of price results may stay in memory in the extension process.
Declared under
data_collection_permissions:
- websiteContent — read product title/price from the open Mercado Libre page when you click
- searchTerms — use that product name as search terms on public price sites
Host access is limited to Mercado Libre Argentina and the price/FX sources listed above.
Those public sites receive normal HTTPS requests from your browser (similar to you visiting them yourself). Their privacy policies apply to what they log.
