About this extension
InboxIQ triages any email in one click: what kind it is, whether it matters to you, and — for internship/opportunity mail — a legitimacy check that catches scams the way a careful student would.

Every red flag it looks for came from a real scam email sent to a real student inbox: fake IIT/company partnerships, fees that are "applicable" but never given a number, countdowns like "only 11 slots left," claims of being personally shortlisted in a mail that was blind-copied to hundreds, and — the giveaway most people miss — a sender address that doesn't match who the mail claims to be from. Alongside the AI reasoning, it checks how old the sender's domain actually is using public registry data, since a company claiming to be established with a domain registered eight months ago is telling on itself.

Deadlines get pulled out automatically and turned into one-tap reminders, and everything is scored against interests you set once, so a relevant hackathon surfaces and a generic promo doesn't.

Bring your own free API key. InboxIQ runs on your own Groq API key (free, no card, created in about a minute at console.groq.com) rather than a shared quota someone else pays for. The extension walks you through it on first open.

Nothing runs until you click it. No inbox scanning, no background collection. The email text is sent to the analysis server only when you ask, and it is never stored — the source code is public if you want to check.

Built for student inboxes — college notices, hackathon invites, internship outreach — but works on any email or listing page.
