Extension Metadata

About this extension
GPT AntiCurse operates only on https://chatgpt.com/.

Purpose:
Very long ChatGPT conversations can contain thousands of conversation-tree nodes, including tool, system, and visually hidden nodes. ChatGPT's page JavaScript repeatedly processes this state, which can cause extremely high CPU usage and severe UI slowdown.

The extension intercepts ChatGPT conversation responses using Firefox's webRequest/filterResponseData API and reduces the conversation mapping before ChatGPT's page JavaScript receives it. Processing is performed entirely locally in Firefox.

Testing:
  1. Install the extension.
  2. Sign in to ChatGPT.
  3. Open a long existing conversation.
  4. Reload the conversation.
  5. The extension displays a small status indicator showing the original node count and resulting node count.
  6. The toolbar popup contains controls for the filtering mode and displays statistics about the intercepted conversation.

The effect is most apparent on very long conversations containing hundreds or thousands of internal conversation nodes.

Account requirement:
ChatGPT itself may require an OpenAI account to access saved conversations. The extension does not provide, create, manage, or authenticate ChatGPT accounts.

I cannot provide shared ChatGPT test credentials because OpenAI's Terms of Use prohibit sharing account credentials or making an account available to another person. A reviewer can test the extension using their own OpenAI/ChatGPT test account.

Privacy:
GPT AntiCurse does not collect, store remotely, sell, or transmit user data. Conversation response processing happens locally in Firefox. There are no analytics or telemetry services.

Source:
The complete human-readable source code is included directly in the extension package and is also publicly available in the project's GitHub repository. There is no minified, obfuscated, bundled, or remotely loaded extension code.
