Evergreen syncs your bookmarks across every browser and profile you use — this Firefox add-on, and a companion Chrome Web Store extension for Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc, Opera, Vivaldi, and other Chromium desktop browsers. The synced format is identical on both engines, so your Firefox and Chrome profiles sync against the same repository and stay in step with each other.

The twist that sets it apart: you own the storage. Instead of trusting a third-party sync service, Evergreen stores your bookmarks as a plain JSON file in a GitHub repository you control — ideally a private one. There is no Evergreen account and no Evergreen server.

You own your data. Bookmarks live in your GitHub repo, versioned with full Git history. Roll back, inspect diffs, or export anytime.

No middleman. Evergreen talks only to GitHub. No author-operated server, no analytics, no telemetry.
Cross-engine. Firefox at home, Chrome at work — one repo, one bookmark set, every change recorded with which browser made it.

Least-privilege by design. Connect with a fine-grained GitHub token scoped to just your bookmarks repository.

Automatic and manual sync. Changes push after a short debounce; a periodic pull keeps every browser current; Sync Now is one click away.

Transparent by design. Every sync is a Git commit with a readable message.

What syncs on Firefox: the Bookmarks Toolbar and Other Bookmarks — the two roots shared with the Chromium format. The Firefox Bookmarks Menu and Mobile Bookmarks are not synced.
