About this extension
Dr. No is a gentle nudge against 2 a.m. symptom-Googling and WebMD spirals. When it catches a medical search or a known medical site, it hard-blocks the page with a friendly little ASCII character and a "take me back to safety" button — no bypass.

Not medical advice, and not a substitute for one. If you're genuinely worried, call a real human doctor.

What it blocks — Medical search queries on Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, Yahoo, Ecosia, Startpage, Brave, and Qwant; and known medical sites (WebMD, Mayo Clinic, Healthline, Drugs.com, MedlinePlus, NIH, Cleveland Clinic, and more). Both lists are extendable on the options page.

How it decides — Vague phrasings like "do i have" are grammar, not medicine, so Dr. No judges queries in tiers: an unambiguously medical term alone ("diabetes"); a body part plus a sensation ("knee hurts"); or a body part plus a question framing ("why does my knee click"). Everyday searches like "why does my car shake" keep working.

Privacy — Runs entirely on your device and makes zero network requests. Collects no data. Stores only your own settings via extension storage.

On Firefox — Dr. No's optional on-device "AI arbiter" for borderline queries relies on Chrome's built-in model, which has no standardized Firefox equivalent, so it's disabled here; borderline queries use the keyword rules alone. All core blocking works fully.

Configure — A toolbar on/off switch, plus an options page for custom terms/sites and picking your ASCII character. Settings sync across your browsers.
