Cove Download Manager version history - 8 versions
  • Be careful with old versions! These versions are displayed for testing and reference purposes. You should always use the latest version of an add-on.

    Version 1.4.4

    Version 1.4.3

    Released Jul 30, 2026 - 69.69 KB
Works with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and later
    • The download pill no longer reports "Video unavailable" when the real
problem is that Cove is not running. It now says which side failed:
"Cove is not running" when the app cannot be reached, "No video found"
when no downloadable media was detected, and "Download failed" for
anything else. The old wording blamed the page for a perfectly playable
video whenever Cove happened to be closed.
    • Downloads are no longer lost when Cove sends a malformed or empty reply.
Handling that reply could throw and skip the browser fallback, so a
download sent from the context menu could end up neither in Cove nor in
the browser. The browser now always keeps the download unless Cove has
      positively accepted it.

  • Version 1.4.2

    Released Jul 27, 2026 - 69.02 KB
Works with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and later
Fixes a bug where downloads sent to Cove (auto-detected downloads, right-click "Download with Cove", the in-page media pill, and the keyboard shortcut) would bypass debrid resolution when a Real-Debrid, AllDebrid, or TorBox account was enabled in Cove, causing the host's confirmation page to download instead of the real file.

Also fixes the "Download with Cove" context menu item disappearing after restarting Firefox.

  • Version 1.4.1

    Released Jul 17, 2026 - 68.81 KB
Works with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and later
    What's new in 1.4.1:
    • Fixed: clearing the minimum file size field in the options page no longer silently disables the size filter. An empty field is now treated as 0 (intercept
      all sizes).
    • Fixed: file sizes of 1 TB and above now display correctly in the popup instead of showing "undefined".
    • Fixed: the popup no longer logs repeated errors while the extension's background process is restarting.
    • Improved: responses from the Cove desktop app are now validated more strictly, so a malformed reply can no longer leave a download in a stuck state.

Requires the Cove Download Manager desktop app. Version 2.0.1 of the app is recommended, as it includes matching reliability fixes for browser-initiated
    downloads.

  • Version 1.4.0

    Released Jul 16, 2026 - 68.5 KB
Works with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and later
Version 1.4.0 adds in-page video downloading through Cove Download Manager.

    • Added a “Download with Cove” button to actively playing videos
    • Added support for YouTube watch pages and old Reddit video posts
    • Added detection for direct MP4, WebM, and HLS streams
    • Improved video detection on dynamically loaded pages, embedded players, and shadow DOM players
    • Added an option to enable or disable the in-page video button
    • Improved downloaded video filenames using page and video titles
    • Fixed the button disappearing during playback changes
    • Fixed unsafe HTML rendering flagged by Firefox Add-on validation
    • Updated minimum requirements to Firefox 140 and Firefox for Android 142

Requires Cove Download Manager 1.9.0 or newer for video downloads.

  • Version 1.3.0

    Released Jul 4, 2026 - 62.46 KB
Works with firefox 91.0 and later
New in 1.3.0: in-page video download pill.
    • Hover any HTML5 video and a floating "Download with Cove" button appears in the top-right corner of the player. One click sends the video to the Cove
desktop app with the page's cookies and referrer.
    • Supports direct MP4/WebM video sources, plus HLS (M3U8) streams the extension has detected for the tab (useful for players that use blob/MSE sources).
    • Nothing downloads automatically: the pill only acts on an explicit click, shows a "Sent to Cove" state to prevent duplicates, and never appears for
      DRM-protected media.

Existing features (download interception, right-click "Download with Cove", detected stream list, Alt+Shift+D toggle) are unchanged.
