About this extension

askYoutube helps you understand YouTube videos faster using the AI assistant you already use.

The extension adds a convenient prompt panel below YouTube videos. Enter a question, select ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Grok, and askYoutube prepares the video's transcript together with your prompt and sends it to your selected AI assistant.

Use askYoutube to:

Summarize long videos and podcasts
Ask specific questions about a video's content
Find explanations, examples, and key takeaways
Extract steps and action items from tutorials
Analyze claims and arguments
Translate or clarify parts of a transcript
Reference relevant timestamps when available

askYoutube does not provide its own AI model. It works with your own session on the supported AI assistant.
