Ain't Nobody Got Time for That by BeefMediumRare

Ain't Nobody Got Time for That changes YouTube's playback speed for you while a video plays. You give it a list of timestamps paired with speeds, and it runs through the filler fast and drops back to normal for the parts worth watching. No holding a key down, no nudging the speed by hand.

That list is called a track. You can record your own while you watch, or sync read-only tracks other people have published.

Using a track
- Open a YouTube video and click the toolbar icon.
- The popup lists every track for that video, yours plus any you've synced. Pick one, hit Apply, and play.
- The video follows the track on its own. The progress bar shows colored segments for where it speeds up and slows down.
- Hit Stop to go back to plain 1x playback.

The toolbar icon carries a small badge with the number of tracks available for the current video, so you can tell at a glance whether anyone's made one.

Recording your own
You build a track by watching, not by typing timestamps.
- Press Alt+Shift+R to start recording.
- As the video plays, press a digit to set the speed from that point on: 1 normal, 2 fast, 3 faster, 4 skip.
- Press Alt+Shift+R again to finish, give it a title, and save. It comes back whenever you open that video.

You decide what each mode means in the settings. The defaults are 1x, 2x, and 3x. Skip has no speed of its own; it jumps straight to the end of a section.

Sharing
Download a track as a JSON file and commit it to a public GitHub folder. Anyone can add that folder as a repository, and your tracks show up next to theirs on matching videos. Synced tracks work offline after the first sync.

Good to know
- It's for YouTube only.
- It assumes YouTube Premium. There's no handling for ad breaks.
- It stores everything on your own device and collects no data. The only network requests it makes are to GitHub, and only for repositories you add yourself.
